Welcome back to my obsessions- doors and windows. These are some of my doors, photographed all throughout Vilnius on my recent trip there. Some look like little portals for gnomes, others, entrances for giants straight from the slightly creepy Lithuanian fairie tales my father used to read to me as a child. But from the most simplistic shed door to the most ornate wood cathedral thresholds, they are truly all feats of architectural craftsmanship.

Lucky Knockers
The number 13 was always my Grandmother’s lucky number as she was the 13th of 16 children…so maybe that’s why this appealed to me. Its been a while since I posted one of my door knocker obsessions, and I really love this one. I’m also starting to get excited as in a few short days, I am taking off to the motherland. More on that later, when I can startle you with a fabulous image mid transit or when I have arrived at said magical destination.
Stay Tuned…..
LOVE it.
I’ve been wanting to do this to my hair ever since my BFF got a checkerboard shaved into the side of her head circa 1989. I think that this is the edgiest Carmen Electra has gotten in her entire life. Its honestly a weird coincidence, as I have a hair appointment in a half hour…..stay tuned.
Music to make sweet whoopee to…
Debut single from Jmzs Smith. On repeat loop. Forever. I want to wear an outfit by Lady Gaga and dance to this in my boudoir. Okay, let’s get real people- I’m already doing that.
Breaking up is hard to do
Fortunately, Chanel has just the solution. Talk about a pair of killer stilettos! While contemplating the purchase of this precious pair of pumps, I trolled the Christmas windows on 57th street. Replacing the deep grooves that the mean reds had carved out in my brain, inspiration filled my heart and I was able to take note of the beautiful details in the Bergdorf windows.
Razzle Dazzle
I’ve been a big fan of Mr. Bob Mackie ever since my lips were able to say “Bar-bie”. I seriously thought he was exclusively a Barbie doll designer until I got to fashion school…..suffice it to say, once I discovered Cher, Carol Burnett and various other late 60’s TV stars and found out that he made real-people clothing, I was in heaven. I’ve completely dog-eared his copy of “Unmistakably Mackie”, but never really knew who this “Mitzi Gaynor” was that he spoke of.
Traipsing thru Town…
Another month of constant inspiration gathered on my point-and-shoot! Come take a walk with me as I wear down the tread on my sneaks gathering some choice pics. Can you feel the brisk early winter air?
Tutti finestri di Italia
I’m obsessed….with windows in Italy. I can’t help it- from trompe-l’œil paintings around the edges to contrasting shutters to shapely balconies and trim-work…I just can’t get enough. Here are some of my greatest hits….
