Week of Pink
For some odd reason, I came across a cacophony of that certain shade of rose this week. The first of which is a couch that I found at the City Opera Thrift Shoppe, (pictured above) which would be perfect for my Barbie Dream House in Italy!
Happy Things….
At the foot of the Champ Elysee…..I think this was the embassy and some (cute) French police officers tried to make me erase this from my camera….apparently, I looked like a spy. But I batted my eyelashes and said pretty please…and was allowed to keep it.
I heart the Wearst!
I once had an boyfriend who said he couldn’t stand it when I wore those “Grandma clothes”. He was, of course, referring to my penchant for vintage fashion and my predilection for eclectic glamour, which at that stage, I had just started to experiment with. Incidentally, I am no longer with the chap, and have since heard he has moved onto a very exciting life with a less geriatrically-inspired wife in the ‘burbs.
Monday Blues (in Paris)
To overcome this yucky New York Monday, I look at the Eiffel Tower. No, its not a Palin-I-see-Russia-from-Alaska-thing, its this lovely live Paris webcam on my ‘puter:
Milda piace Motoscafo
On my last day in Como, I was able to take part on the annual tradition of motorboat racing (or “motoscafo” as the Italians call it) on the lake. It was really cool- especially to see the lake turned into a huge playground for the day. We even got some great gear for the team we were rooting for- the Pirates for Team Rossa! We are here featured with a car that I refer to as the “flip-flop”…honestly, I felt like I was driving in a Birkenstock!!!!

I’m obsessed….with windows in Italy. I can’t help it- from trompe-l’œil paintings around the edges to contrasting shutters to shapely balconies and trim-work…I just can’t get enough. Here are some of my greatest hits….
Doors & Knockers!
Again, an obbession that cannot be stopped. I think when i finally have a house, it will have to have enough space to contain all these doors! The greatest hits from all over northern Italy- Tremezzo to Milano….
