It feels like I have walked into the inside of Kanye West’s brain. Kanye’s brain is approximately 350 sq. feet large (explains the ego). Rocket ships, ringed planets, and other spacey parapanelia of the glow-in-the-dark or neon variety sprinkle the white-washed walls of this apartment. My friend, James (neé-Arsinij), parts the silver floor-length doorway fringe, laughing, as this is exactly what he intended it to look like. His partner-in-crime/fashion editor-at-large, Mimi, traipses behind him, freshly blonded ponytail bobbing in excitement as she comes over to hug me.
“Do you like it?”
That’s an understatement. This creative couple never ceases to amaze me. The pair are both founders of the eponymous online fashion mag, plaztikmag.com, a must for any underground fashionista in the know. They started and currently run the mag solely with passion, and after a few years, the couple has become as well known during fashion week among the celebutards as well as the purveyors of the “pit“. Check out their online coverage of each seasons’ shows, backstage drama, and sharp, edgy editorials featuring the best of the NYC underground design scene.
Hell, I just love them because they’re the instigators of a full-on water balloon assault from the rooftop of their East Village manse.
